Tips for choosing good photos
Lighting is very important. At least some sunlight on the front of the subject is preferred. Shade or photos with too much dark area generally do not provide satisfactory results. For head studies, the subjects should be reasonably close up to capture facial details and expressions. If we believe the photo submitted will not work well, we will ask you to submit another photo so that we can give you the best result.
If needed, we will crop the picture so that it fits the proportions of our frames and note cards. (If you mailed us a photo print, it will be returned to you unaltered with the completed order. Cropping is done digitally). If possible, we will attempt to remove undesired elements from the photo. But please keep in mind that the finished artwork is created from the photo you submit. So, please include your daytime telephone number and e-mail address so that we can contact you if we have questions.
Submitting photos
:1. Choose the photograph with care. The quality of the finished artwork is directly dependent on the nature and quality of the photograph you send us. For e-mail attachments, JPEG or TIFF preferred. Color or Black/White. GIF may be acceptable. Minimum 300 dpi.
2. We can work from either a traditional photographic print (up to 8"x10") or a digital photo. Photographic prints are returned with your finished artwork. Please note: we do not work from film negatives or computer printouts.
3. You can e-mail your photo as an attachment to: vbockes@oxbowcrewcreations.com or send it via US mail to:
